Civil / Geotechnical Project Manager

Description:

Canary Systems is an electronic hardware and software engineering firm specializing in civil engineering related monitoring and instrumentation applications. Projects include monitoring of earth and concrete dams, bridges, tunnels and buildings. We operate in several markets including construction, mining, geotechnical, industrial and public infrastructure. Our offerings revolve our web-based risk management software platform, MLWeb.

We are looking for a person with a geotechnical or civil engineering background to manage our Civil Group projects. This includes a variety of responsibilities related to developing opportunities, organizing staff including subcontractors, organizing project work and undertaking numerous aspects of project work directly. This is a full-time position based out of our California office, to be located in the Bay Area. Projects are primarily located in California. Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop project proposals, specifications and designs
  • Manage project installations and client relations
  • Manage sub-contractors and Canary staff
  • Prepare project documentation
  • Provide installation services
  • Provide training and other services
  • Coordinate support or provide support as needed
  • Prepare project/case histories for marketing & sales
  • Present project/case histories at conferences/client meetings
  • Manage project financials including project costing, office administration and staff costing

Expertise Desired:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Geotechnical or Civil or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineering registration in the State of California in a related discipline
  • Geotechnical instrumentation applications and installation
  • Monitoring systems including electronics and software
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Survey technologies including robotics and GPS
  • Geotechnical data reduction and presentation methods
