Steelhip is a full service lighting and grip rental house located in the Berkeley area. We handle all equipment needs whether it’s for a large commercial shoot or a small short film. We are looking for a shop hand to join our team, someone who is a self-starter, organized, enthusiastic, and has strong communication skills. Experience with lighting and grip equipment is helpful, but not necessary; the right candidate will receive training. Looking for someone to start right away. 

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean and organize shop, equipment, and trucks

• Load/unload lighting & grip equipment 

• Track all rental inventory

• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure everything is in good working order

• Pick up/drop off equipment and other errands

• Work closely with management to provide excellent service

• Professionally interact with customers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Self-starter/organized and detail oriented

• Willingness to learn and follow directions

• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

• Understands the importance of time management

• Works well independently and as part of a team

• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Programs

• Strong communication skills

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license

• Forklift experience or willing to learn

• Truck driving experience or willing to learn

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks; stretch, turn, twist, and reach overhead; bend, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for extended periods of time

• Ability to safely lift up to 40-50 lbs
