The City of Berkeley is accepting applications for two career, benefitted, full-time Camp Manager positions. Each incumbent will be responsible for managing one of the City of Berkeley’s resident camps, either Berkeley Tuolumne Camp (located near Yosemite) or Echo Lake Camp (located near South Lake Tahoe). Recruitment closes October 11 2022 at 5:00. PM

These are year-round positions, working half the year at Camp where meals & lodging are provided in full (approx. April – October) and working half the year in Berkeley where meals & lodging are not provided (approx. November – March).

While working at Camp, the Camp Manager is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations, including food service, maintenance, recreation, administration, and medical services. In Berkeley, the Camp Manager performs planning, marketing, recruitment and hiring, development of policies and procedures, and oversight of facility maintenance and planning. The Camp Manager leads efforts to make our camps more diverse, equitable and inclusive, blending valued camp traditions with strategies for welcoming new campers, staff and traditions.

About Berkeley Tuolumne Camp - This is primarily a full-service family camp located just outside Yosemite National Park, straddling the south fork of the Tuolumne River. Other offerings Counselor-In-Training programs, 50 plus Camp and private group rentals. Since 1922, it has been a highly regarded summer tradition for generations of campers. BTC celebrated its 100th anniversary this year with the grand re-opening of the beautiful new camp facilities, following a comprehensive reconstruction.

About Berkeley Echo Lake Camp - Just minutes from the amazing South Lake Tahoe Basin, Echo Lake Camp provides a unique outdoor environment to offer primarily Youth Camp and Counselor-In-Training programs, in addition to 50 plus Camp, Teen Retreats, and private group rentals. Both camps offer recreational programming including theme days, arts & crafts, sports & games, music, swimming, archery, hiking, and child-care.
