Assembler

Join a manufacturing team as an Assembler responsible for finishing and assembling precision metal components. In this role, you use hand and power tools to remove excess material, perform visual and dimensional inspections, and ensure all finished products meet strict quality and specification standards.

Responsibilities

• Remove excess metal and burrs from machined parts using reaming tools, files, hand drills, and other assembly tools to complete product modifications and assembly work.
• Perform assembly tasks on precision metal components according to work instructions and production requirements.
• Inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications throughout the production process.
• Conduct visual and dimensional quality checks to verify that products meet established standards.
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and practices.
• Report defects, quality concerns, or equipment issues promptly to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
• Use hand and power tools effectively and safely in a production and assembly environment.
• Support general production activities as needed to meet manufacturing and assembly goals.
• Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper flow through the production process.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production environments preferred.
• Comfortable using hand drills, files, reaming tools, and other hand tools in a production setting.
• Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity for working with small and precise components.
• Ability to perform visual and dimensional quality control and inspection tasks.
• Capability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as part of regular job duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with deburring processes and finishing machined metal parts.
• Experience in manufacturing production and general production work.
• Familiarity with inventory processes and material handling in a production or warehouse environment.
• Experience with forklift operation, packing, packaging, picking, and loading and unloading materials.
• Knowledge of RF scanners, inventory control, and warehouse inventory procedures.
• Experience with order picking and shipping and receiving activities.
• Strong quality control mindset and ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
• Reliable work habits and ability to follow safety and operational guidelines consistently.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and production environment focused on precision metal components. You work primarily on an assembly line and production floor using hand and power tools such as drills, files, and reaming tools. The position involves standing for most of the shift and lifting up to 30 lbs as needed. You operate in an organized workspace that emphasizes cleanliness and safety, and you may interact with material handling, inventory, and warehouse processes including packing, packaging, picking, loading, unloading, and shipping and receiving activities. The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, providing a consistent daytime work routine.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
