Description:

This position starts at $25.50/hr. and potential for overtime.The Material Handler is responsible for safely transferring materials and WIP to and from RTE areas. Monitoring the material activities of production employees involved in the packaging of Ready to Eat products. Ensures that food safety policies are adhered to and that packaged products conform to specifications/quality standards.Responsibilities:Accurately utilize packaging SOP to pull the correct materials for assigned packaging schedule/sUtilize SAP to accurately transfer material and/or wip to and from storage location and assigned location/sUtilize SAP to make transaction corrections when necessaryAbility to push racks of up to 2000 pounds of product on rail systemMaintain standard production performance within assigned area/sConsistently setup and start up production area/sTrain new material handlersServe as safety captain and first point of contact in the production area for production and equipment related issuesRequirements:Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends on assigned shiftMust be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 40 to 60 pounds repeatedlyMust be able to push/manipulate up to 40 - 60 pounds repeatedlyMust be willing to tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below for entire shift; be able to walk and stand on concrete floor for the shift duration and able to follow both verbal and written instructionsThe Team Member must be willing to complete all required training for the jobPerform any other work as assigned by supervisor or lead personComply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF RequirementsMust perform all positions of rotation, if applicablePerform any other work as assigned by supervisor and/or leadDemonstrated knowledge of basic math, grammar and communication skillsInternal candidates must have 4 attendance points or less and no active written warnings on file in previous last 6 months to be consideredPersonal Skills & Attributes:High school education1 to 2 years experience working in a meat processing facilityA self-starter who can work with minimal supervisionBasic computer knowledge requiredPrevious experience in a USDA food manufacturing environment preferredPrevious experience using pallet jack preferredRehires: Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employmentRelocation Assistance Eligible: NoWork Shift: ALL SHIFTS (United States of America)Pay Range/Rate: $25.50Incentives: Annual Incentive Plan: No Long-Term Incentive Plan: NoCertain roles at Tyson require background checks.
