This role supports classroom instruction by reinforcing reading, writing, and language comprehension strategies aligned with grade-level standards.The instructor collaborates closely with classroom teachers and school staff to implement literacy interventions, small-group instruction, and individualized support to help students strengthen their Englishproficiencyand reading fluency. In addition, the instructor promotes student engagement through culturally responsive teaching practices andmaintainsregular communication with familiesregardingprogress and strategies for continued growth.Job ResponsibilitiesInstructional Planning & DeliveryDesign and deliver grade-appropriate academic content.Address scholars' individual academic and instructional needs to ensure meaningful participation in learning.Support teachers in planning and directing project-based learning activities.Classroom Management & Student EngagementFoster a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.Set and uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for scholars.Utilize positive discipline strategies to encourage constructive choices and serve as a role model.Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure scholars achieve academicobjectivesthrough effective in-person or virtual engagement.Mentor teacher assistants to support their professional growth.QualificationsAt least two years of teachingor tutoringexperience in an urban K-8 public school setting.Strong communicationskills, including verbal, written, and technologicalproficiency.Proven ability toestablishrelationships with students, families, and staff.Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.Specializedexpertisein curriculum areas such as literacy or math.TB test clearance within the last two years (requiredfor programslocatedon school district sites).Preferred QualificationsMandarinandCantonesepreferredWork Environment & Physical DemandsPSA Teachers work in dynamic classroom settings that may include both indoor and outdoor spaces, engaging in activities that require moderate physical activity, such as standing, walking, and interacting with students.
