Want to help Oakland Zoo in our mission to deepen connections with animals, save wildlife, and inspire champions for the natural world? Join us as a Zoo Ambassador!

Zoo Ambassadors assist and enhance the guest experience, facilitating engagement with our animals and our mission. Key tasks include greeting guests, supporting wayfinding, informing them of amenities, and assisting with special events. Being a Zoo Ambassador is a prerequisite to becoming a Docent at Oakland Zoo.

Requirements:

• Zoo Ambassador Training Fee - $50
• 2+ References
• Proof of Tetanus vaccination

Deadline to apply: August 29, 2026

Fall 2026 training dates: In-person trainings will be held on September 19 and September 26. Zoo Ambassador candidates must attend both in-person training days and remote training materials.
