Job Summary

General job functions include the verification and keeping of records on incoming and outgoing shipments as well as preparing these items for shipment. Performs incoming inspections on raw material and subcontract material. Follows up with supplier PO's and expedite supplier deliveries.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares documents such as bill of lading, and packing slips to route materials
• Determines the appropriate method of shipment using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, as well as rates
• Arranges transportation of product
• Manages daily supplier deliveries
• Inputs inventory manually/and or with the scanner into a computer database
• Uses UPS software effectively and understands summary reporting on request
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, and records shortages
• Unloads parts
• Verifies information against all invoices, orders, and other appropriate records
• Corresponds with shipper/receiver to rectify damages as well as shortages in order
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure that shipments meet customer specifications
• Maintains shipping and all necessary supplies, and directs others in the preparation of outgoing and incoming shipments
• Performs general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the dock and inventory areas
• Transfers all original documents to accounting for distribution
• Enters orders accurately into the system if necessary and generates appropriate workorders
• Schedules and moves material to and from stations to enable effective utilization of resources

Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent of between 1 and 2 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship. Ability to operate a pallet jack, fork lift, and crane. Basic computer knowledge and ERP systems.
