Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II Location: Oakland, CA (On-site)
Job Summary

This role focuses on designing, testing, and improving mechanical parts and products. You'll work on prototypes, testing equipment, and support existing products. You'll also collaborate with manufacturing partners and internal teams to make sure designs are ready for production and meet quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings with GD&T.
• Take part in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Select and test materials like plastics, metals, and elastomers.
• Build prototypes using machining, 3D printing, or other methods.
• Use shop tools and machinery to adjust prototypes.
• Work with suppliers on molds, extrusion dies, and fabrication methods.
• Support design for manufacturability.
• Create simple test fixtures and jigs.
• Run mechanical tests (performance, durability, fatigue, flow).
• Analyze test data and suggest improvements.
• Prepare drawings, test reports, and design review materials.
• Collaborate with design, research, quality, and regulatory teams.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• Skilled in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• 3+ years of mechanical design or product development experience.
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with molders and fabrication partners.
• Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
