Description:

Program Management Office (PMO) Leader

Pay Range: $55hr - $60hr

Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve PMO standards, frameworks, processes, and templates to ensure consistency and quality across programs.
  • Establish governance structures, roles, escalation paths, and decision-making forums for effective oversight.
  • Conduct governance reviews, audits, and health checks to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Provide end-to-end leadership for multiple interconnected projects and programs aligned with business objectives.
  • Define program vision, scope, objectives, success metrics, and roadmaps.
  • Manage cross-program dependencies, sequencing, and resource allocation including budget, personnel, and technology.
  • Partner with IT and architecture teams to align programs with enterprise technology strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate adoption of Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Define PMO workflows including demand management, intake processes, resource management, and reporting.
  • Track program performance using KPIs, metrics, and dashboards and report to senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues impacting scope, schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for program deviations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between program teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Communicate program progress, risks, and dependencies clearly and proactively.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment and change management initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and program management experience across large-scale IT initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex dependencies, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Hands-on experience with PMO and delivery tools such as Planview, Jira, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in program/project management.
  • 8+ years of experience in PMO leadership or large-scale program roles.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building and scaling PMO frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management and executive reporting.
  • Experience managing vendors, partners, and third-party contracts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
