Global Expedited Transportation Freight Corp. (GET Freight) is a rapidly growing drayage and transportation provider headquartered in Duluth, Georgia, with satellite operations in Mobile, AL; Savannah, GA; Oakland, CA and Longbeach, CA. As part of our continued expansion, GET Freight is launching hydrogen-powered drayage operations in the Los Angeles / Long Beach (LA/LB) marketone of the largest and most dynamic port logistics hubs in North America. We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Assistant Manager to lead daily operations, customer relationships, and execution performance in our LA/LB Hydrogen Operations Team.

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager is responsible for day-to-day operational execution of hydrogen-powered drayage and rail ramp shuttle operations in the LA/LB market. This role focuses on dispatch execution, customer coordination, carrier management, and real-time issue resolution, ensuring safe and efficient transportation operations.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

1. Dispatch & Daily Operations

  • Execute daily dispatch plans for port drayage and rail ramp shuttle operations
  • Assign loads, monitor ETAs, and adjust dispatch in real time
  • Coordinate terminal appointments and container flow
  • 2. Core Transportation Operations

    • Oversee key transportation activities:
    • Port drayage (LA/LB ? customer locations)
    • Rail ramp container shuttle operations
    • Drive KPIs including turns per truck, on-time performance, and asset utilization
    • 3. Customer & Carrier Coordination

      • Communicate with customers regarding delivery status and service issues
      • Support management of execution partners (carriers) and track performance
      • Assist in resolving operational issues and service disruptions
      • 4. Hydrogen Fleet Management & Maintenance

        • Manage hydrogen vehicle operations, including daily readiness and utilization
        • Monitor vehicle readiness and coordinate maintenance scheduling
        • Support hydrogen fueling operations and ensure operational continuity
        • 5. Yard & Asset Coordination

          • Track containers, chassis, and equipment usage
          • Support yard operations and ensure efficient asset utilization
          • Maintain safe, compliant, and efficient working environment across yard and office
          • 6. Safety & Compliance

            • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, CARB, and port regulations
            • Monitor driver qualification files (DQ), ELD/HOS compliance, and incident reporting
            • Qualifications & Requirements

              • High school diploma or GED required
              • Korean bi-lingual required
              • 35+ years in trucking, logistics, or drayage operations
              • Experience in port drayage or intermodal operations (LA/LB strongly preferred)
              • Hands-on experience with dispatch, driver management, and daily operations execution
              • Working knowledge of ELD/HOS, DQ file management, and safety compliance
              • TWIC knowledge and port terminal system experience
              • Strong command of TMS/dispatch software and Excel; concise communication with drivers and customers.
