Description:

Engineering Manager, Billing Platform

Join Crusoe as an Engineering Manager to lead the Billing Platform team within our Cloud Customer Experience (CCX) organization. This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of engineering, product, and finance, responsible for building and operating the systems that power billing, payments, and cost transparency across Crusoe Cloud. You'll deliver a billing platform that is highly reliable, accurate, and scalable, while ensuring it is intuitive and transparent from a customer perspective. This a full-time opportunity for a leader with early management experience who thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys aligning diverse stakeholders, and is passionate about building both strong teams and high-quality systems.

What You'll Be Working On:

Build systems for usage metering, pricing, invoicing, and payments, ensuring correctness, consistency, and auditability of financial data. Design scalable architectures supporting rapid product and pricing evolution.
  • Establish billing as a highly reliable, trusted system for customers and internal teams. Define and uphold high standards for system uptime, accuracy, and data integrity, while building strong observability, reconciliation, and incident response practices. Drive operational excellence for business-critical financial workflows.
  • Champion a customer-first approach to billing by improving clarity and usability of billing surfaces, APIs, and cost insights. Partner with product and design to simplify complex billing concepts, ensuring customers can easily understand, predict, and trust their usage and costs.
  • Operate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders by partnering closely with Product, Finance, Legal, and Go-To-Market teams. Balance competing technical, financial, regulatory, and customer requirements while driving alignment and execution across multiple organizations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers across levels. Foster a strong team culture focused on ownership, quality, and impact, driving execution against ambitious goals in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Demonstrate strong people management and team leadership with 23 years of experience managing engineering teams. Bring a track record of delivering impactful projects through others, with experience coaching and developing engineers.
  • Bring strong backend and distributed systems fundamentals, with experience building or operating reliable, scalable systems. Guide architecture and make sound technical tradeoffs with a deep understanding of data integrity and correctness in high-stakes systems.
  • Value reliability and precision in critical systems, with experience in monitoring, alerting, and incident management. Bring an appreciation for correctness, auditability, and long-term maintainability, with comfort operating systems where accuracy is non-negotiable.
  • Exhibit excellent technical communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate across diverse roles and functions. As this team will have customers across the engineering organization, this role requires the ability to field multiple requests from multiple teams while still fulfilling a unified mission.
  • Be extremely organized, capable of managing complex initiatives and team priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree minimum.
