We're assisting a well‑funded data platform startup with their search for software engineers. Their product helps data scientists and engineers build data applications across ETL, analytics and ML/AI. The role will be a hybrid position, working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from their SFoffice and Thursday and Friday remotely.

What you'll do:

• As a software engineer on the product team, you will have primary responsibilities around building out key features for their open‑sourced data engine.
• You will be working on core features across the entire stack from the frontend API and dashboard to its distributed scheduler and low‑level Rust execution engine.
• Their goal is to build the world's best open‑source distributed query engine, and your work will play a key role in realizing that vision.
• They are a young startup – so be prepared to wear many hats such as tinkering with infrastructure, talking to customers and participating heavily in the core design process of their product!

What you'll bring:

• 3+ years of experience in generalist/fullstack software engineering – front and back end infrastructure.
• Experience in developer tools companies or working on devtools.
• Track record of building and shipping 0-to-1 products, preferably in B2B/enterprise context.
• Experience at early‑stage startups or as a founding engineer.
• Strong skills and experience in React, FastAPI, NextJS, Python, Typescript.
• Familiarity with data science tooling (Pandas, Spark).
• Experience with Rust/C++ or systems programming.
• Customer focused – have worked closely with clients to gather requirements.
