General Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the delivery of engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion of HVAC, Plumbing, and other contract services offered by ACCO Engineered Systems.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates understanding of a complete construction set of documents and able to execute these projects with little supervisionComplete code-required energy compliance and LEED documentationConduct engineering calculations, energy analysis, economic analysis, selection and layout of equipment, and duct & piping system design for HVAC, Plumbing, and other building systems for which ACCO offers expertiseUnderstanding of applications engineering including psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systemsAssist with coordination of design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partnersField engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solvingComputer 2D and 3D modeling of HVAC or plumbing systems utilizing the latest modeling softwareManage time to meet project schedules and task deadlinesAble to delegate and work effectively with BIM supportCan attend small project design meetings on their own and communicate back to project managerCommunicates well with engineering supervision, project management, BIM, and construction departmentsUnderstands the basics of system controls and can write a basic sequence of operation with supervisionDemonstrates understanding of ACCO business drivers for their projectsOther duties as assigned by ManagerPosition RequirementsBS in Engineering or Construction ManagementPrior intern experience with mechanical contractor and/or engineering consultant preferred, but not requiredEIT Certificate highly desirable, but not requiredExcellent understanding of Engineering fundamentalsProficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, or similar drafting software preferredACCO CompetenciesProactivity / Initiative: Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one's level/position and with minimal supervisionPerseverance: Shows the wherewithal to fight for difficult goals despite challenges and to bounce back from adversityInsight: The ability to gather and make sense of information that suggests new possibilitiesEngagement: Shows a knack for using emotion and logic to communicate a persuasive vision and connect with peopleTeamwork: The ability to effectively work toward common goals with others by supporting, encouraging, and sharing information in an authentic and approachable mannerBig Picture: Understands and contributes to organizations' short- and long-term business strategy; on a personal level has independently developed a vision for short- and long-term career successMotivation / Dedication: Commits to excellence in pursuing unselfish goals; initiates action with collective goals takes responsibility, and shows personal humilityTechnical Curiosity / Willingness to Learn: Interest in seeking out new experiences, knowledge, and candid feedback, back; demonstrating an openness to learning and changeProblem-Solver: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve a problem in support of personal, group, department, or organizational objectivesPhysical Requirements(The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work hours are as established by the local manager and generally begin and end between 7:00 am to 8:00 am start and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm end, with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.Competitive Wages$ to $ per hour.
