AOD Counselor – SUD / IOP Programs (On-Site | Oakland, CA)Location: Oakland, CA (100% on-site – Baker location)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no exceptions, no remote/hybrid)Type: Full-Time Seniority: AssociateCompensation: $70,000-$75,000 base + real growth opportunityAbout the Opportunity We are a fast-moving, growth-stage SUD treatment organization in partnership with a respected, long-standing nonprofit in the Bay Area. We are rapidly expanding high-impact Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services for youth and adults.This is not a traditional, scripted counseling job. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can shape programs while advancing your career, this ground-floor opportunity is built for you.Important – Please Read Before ApplyingThis role is 100% on-site in Oakland, CASchedule is strictly Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMRemote or hybrid work is not availableThe Role You will facilitate evidence-based group SUD services for youth (in-person) and support adult programming (telehealth), while actively contributing to program development and quality improvement in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate high-quality, evidence-based SUD/IOP group sessions for youth and adultsDeliver relapse prevention education and recovery-focused coachingComplete timely, compliant documentation per DHCS Title 9 and Medi-Cal standardsSupport client intake, orientation, engagement, and treatment planningCollaborate closely with clinical and medical teamsProvide trauma-informed, culturally responsive careProactively contribute ideas and solutions as the program scalesWho You AreCurrently registered with a DHCS-approved certifying body (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE)Committed to obtaining full AOD/SUD certification within 12 months (fully certified candidates strongly preferred)Experience facilitating SUD groups (youth or adults) — highly preferredEnergized by a fast-paced, evolving startup environmentSelf-starter with strong ownership — you see what needs to be done and make it happenExcellent communicator who thrives in a high-accountability, team-oriented settingWhat Sets This Role ApartGround-floor impact in a rapidly scaling program with clear leadership pathwaysDirect influence on how services are built and improvedPartnership with experienced nonprofit leadership for stability and best practicesMission-driven work that delivers measurable results for youth and adults in recovery
