Serves as a first-level supervisor reporting to senior leadership, exercising full supervisory and managerial authority over a staff of professional and technical employees engaged in complex analytical, evaluative, and program support work affecting nationwide taxpayer services programs, including customer account services, compliance support, and taxpayer education and communication initiatives. Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities, including establishing performance standards, evaluating employee performance, providing technical and administrative guidance, and identifying and addressing training and developmental needs. Takes or recommends personnel actions such as selections, promotions, reassignments, awards, and disciplinary actions. Resolves employee concerns, including complaints and grievances, and fosters a work environment that promotes accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Exercises significant responsibility in organizational and position management, including recommending structural or staffing adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Monitors productivity, quality, and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness and ensure optimal use of resources. Identifies systemic issues, implements process improvements, and introduces innovative approaches, including automation and modernization initiatives, to enhance program delivery./p/div
