Senior AI Engineer (VP Level)

San Francisco or New York

Partnered with a highly technical investment firm building AI systems designed to modernize and reshape how investment workflows operate internally.

Role focuses on building production-grade AI applications, agentic systems, and LLM-powered workflows that solve real operational and analytical problems across the investment lifecycle.

Environment is highly technical, deeply collaborative, and centered around practical AI adoption rather than theoretical research or foundation model development.

What You'll Work On

• Building AI-powered applications and workflows used across investment and operating teams

• Designing agentic systems and LLM orchestration frameworks

• Developing scalable AI infrastructure across AWS, Snowflake, APIs, and internal systems

• Translating complex business and investment workflows into AI-enabled systems

• Identifying opportunities for automation and operational efficiency through AI

• Working closely with technical leadership, operators, and investment professionals on high-impact initiatives

Ideal Background

• Strong software engineering foundation

• Recent hands-on experience building GenAI / LLM applications

• Experience developing production-grade AI systems

• Strong Python and AWS experience

• Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, and AI infrastructure

• Experience with RAG systems, orchestration frameworks, agents, and LLM application design

Environment & Working Style

Highly autonomous, builder-oriented environment with strong exposure to both technical and business stakeholders.

Strong preference for onsite collaboration, particularly at the beginning. San Francisco is preferred, though New York is also open. Flexible hybrid environment over time, but not a minimal in-office setup.

Compensation

Target total cash compensation ranges roughly from $425K–$650K depending on level and experience, with significant performance-driven upside included.
