Civil Litigation Attorney

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

We're seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join a well-established law firm supporting a busy litigation team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, construction defect, product liability, and employment defense matters, along with strong skills in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case strategy. You'll play a key role in defending clients, managing cases, and driving litigation strategy in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Role Expectations:

• Manage a caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development, filings, and client communication
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents on behalf of defendants
• Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Collaborate with attorneys, insurers, and clients on case strategy and trial preparation.

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar admission (required)
• 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience (insurance defense preferred)
• Strong experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions
• Experience handling liability-based cases (general liability, premises, or similar)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $200,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
