Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Senior Software Engineer (Python, PySpark) to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer (Python, PySpark), you will be an integral part of the Software Engineering department supporting the modernization of core financial applications.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modernize backend services to replace legacy mainframe functionality on a distributed platform
• Build and maintain data ingestion, validation, and transformation pipelines using Python and PySpark
• Develop and support APIs utilizing FastAPI and/or Flask frameworks
• Collaborate within a Scrum-based team, engaging with Product Owners, stakeholders, and Operations teams
• Mentor and guide engineers transitioning from mainframe technologies, serving as a technical SME

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience
• Deep expertise in Python, with hands-on experience using PySpark in production environments
• Experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask
• Frontend experience with React and/or Angular is a plus
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and/or Exadata, along with experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
