Our client, a mid-sized law firm located in Oakland, CA, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join its collaborative litigation team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that offers hybrid flexibility following a training period.

This role is ideal for a litigation paralegal who enjoys managing cases from pre‑litigation through trial prep and wants to make an immediate impact within a busy civil litigation practice.

What You'll Do

• Provide substantive support to attorneys across all phases of civil litigation
• Prepare, cite‑check, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and supporting documents
• Manage state and federal court filings, service of process, and critical deadlines
• Coordinate all aspects of discovery, including drafting shells, tracking responses, and organizing productions
• Assist with trial preparation—exhibit binders, witness files, timelines, and last‑minute filings
• Maintain organized case files and facilitate communication among attorneys, clients, and vendors

What You Bring

• 2+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience
• Strong familiarity with California court rules, deadlines, and e‑filing systems
• Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple cases and shift priorities quickly
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and confident working both independently and on a team
