Pay: $18-$23/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Details:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to support enterprise-wide initiatives focused on optimizing plant operations and processes. This role will provide hands-on experience in analyzing workflows, mapping processes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency across manufacturing environments. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate labor utilization, downtime, and overall plant activities, helping drive data-informed improvements.

  • Assist in mapping and documenting current-state processes across plant operations.
  • Analyze data related to labor hours, downtime, and daily operational activities to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather data, understand workflows, and support project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Attending a four-year college or university to attain a degree in Business, Engineering or a related field; or already awarded bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Clear written communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience creating process maps or flowcharts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
