Job Summary
The Commercial Lines VP/SVP will grow organic revenue for the Atlantic Region, lead broking for new and renewal business, support servicing of current clients, prospect new business, and develop strategies to do so.

Location & Schedule
Full‑time hybrid role located in either Bethesda, MD or Charlotte, NC. Remote work is considered for well‑experienced candidates. East Coast location is desired to meet travel requirements within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Lead strategy development and marketing for a book of NFP clients in the Atlantic region, partnering with account service teams and clients to align strategy and execution timelines.

Execute national and regional broking strategies to ensure optimal client outcomes and identify market opportunities.

Develop and execute strategies for at‑risk accounts to retain profitability.

Drive placement strategy and execution, including client needs assessment, program design, carrier negotiation, and marketing execution.

Collaborate with account management to ensure timely submissions, respond to carrier queries, analyze proposals, and present clear summaries.

Determine coverage based on client risk profile, objectives and risk appetite.

Create creative solutions for challenging placements and own the process to deliver customer satisfaction.

Coordinate and manage broking throughout the placement cycle per NFP's service model standards and timelines.

Deploy data and analytics to provide program insights for clients and the broking team.

Prepare proposal documents, coverage and policy comparisons, diagnostics, and reports.

Review binders and policies to ensure terms are accurate.

Partner with producers and account teams during sales: prospect qualification, program review, RFP response, and BOR issuance.

Support creation of sales documents, presentations, stewardship reports, and RFP responses for prospective clients.

Support the team to achieve KPIs for growth and retention, driving prospect sales and expanding client relationships through cross‑sell and up‑sell initiatives.

Maintain consistency in broking standards and client delivery across the region.

Educate senior and associate associates on market dynamics, trends, and their impact on placement strategy, while mentoring junior talent.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key carrier partners, acting as a steward of NFP in the marketplace.

Stay abreast of carrier appetites, market trends, and terms to educate clients for better risk transfer decisions.

Key Qualifications

P&C insurance license required.

10+ years of experience in commercial P&C broking with a strong understanding of mid‑market dynamics.

Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving strategic initiatives.

Excellent mentorship and talent development skills.

Deep carrier relationships and market knowledge across the Atlantic region.

Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with Epic (agency management system) is a plus.

Technical competency and creativity to develop and deliver innovative property and casualty solutions.

Willingness to travel as required for client, prospect and industry events.

Benefits
Competitive salary range $132,000‑$190,000 (based on experience and qualifications). Additional benefits include PTO & paid holidays, 401(k) match, discount programs, health & wellness programs, and performance‑based incentives.
