Job Title: AI/ML Algorithms Architect – Clinical Imaging & Life Sciences

Location: San Francisco, CA

Mode: Hybrid(3 days a week Onsite)

We are seeking a senior AI/ML Algorithms Architect with deep expertise in clinical imaging workflows and life sciences domain applications to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience in medical imaging AI, algorithm architecture, and translating clinical problems into scalable, compliant AI solutions across healthcare and life sciences platforms.

The ideal candidate will work closely with clinicians, data scientists, engineering teams, and regulatory stakeholders to build robust, explainable, and regulatory-compliant AI/ML solutions that improve clinical outcomes, diagnostics, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

AI/ML Architecture & Algorithm Design

• Design and architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions for clinical imaging use cases such as radiology, pathology, cardiology, oncology, and diagnostics.
• Define algorithmic approaches using classical ML, deep learning, and hybrid models optimized for medical data.
• Lead architecture decisions for model training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure scalability, performance, interpretability, and robustness of AI models in clinical settings.

Clinical Imaging & Life Sciences Expertise

• Apply deep understanding of medical imaging modalities(CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, Digital Pathology, PET).
• Work with DICOM, HL7, FHIR, PACS/RIS systems, and clinical data pipelines.
• Translate clinical and research requirements into technical AI/ML solutions.
• Support applications across drug discovery, clinical trials, diagnostics, disease progression modeling, and real-world evidence (RWE).

Collaboration & Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists, ML engineers, and junior architects.
• Partner with product managers, clinicians, researchers, and engineering teams to align AI strategy with business and clinical goals.
• Participate in customer-facing discussions, architecture reviews, and technical proposals.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML and advanced analytics, with at least 5+ years in healthcare or life sciences.
• Strong expertise in deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
• Hands-on experience with CNNs, Transformers, Vision Models, 3D imaging models, and segmentation/classification algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python, and familiarity with C++ or Java for performance-critical components.
• Experience with MLOps, model pipelines, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding ML algorithms used in Radiology and Digital pathology area.
• Prior experience in validating ML algorithms with Pharma company.
• Prior experience of SaMD (Software as medical device) compliance of imaging software, ML algorithms used in reading radiology/pathological images.
