Client: A leading utility company in partnership with Swoon

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support large-scale initiatives within the utilities sector, specifically focused on electric generation and interconnection programs.

This role will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, driving requirements gathering, process improvements, and successful system implementations—particularly within SAP Work & Asset Management environments.

⚡ Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for development teams
  • Support initiatives related to electric generation, distribution, transmission, and substations
  • Work with SAP Work & Asset Management (EAM/WAM) systems to improve operational workflows
  • Lead requirements validation, prioritization, and lifecycle management
  • Create process flows, use cases, and documentation (BRDs, diagrams, etc.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and IT
  • Participate in testing efforts (UAT, QA) and ensure successful implementation of solutions
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements
  • Communicate updates, risks, and solutions to stakeholders and leadership


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience working within utilities (electric, energy, or similar industry)
  • Strong experience with SAP (Work & Asset Management, EAM, PM, or similar)
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation (BRDs)
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex IT projects
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of SQL


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Electric Generation Interconnection (EGI) programs
  • Experience with distribution, transmission, or substation operations
  • Exposure to Joint Pole (JUMP) systems or similar asset platforms
  • Master's degree in a related field (Business, Engineering, Computer Science)
