Head of Engineering

San Francisco (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Base $220–270k + Bonus + 3–5% Equity

FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a high-growth, VC-backed B2B SaaS company building the revenue infrastructure that the next generation of AI companies will run on.

They're starting with one of the most critical and broken parts of the revenue journey: deal pricing. Today, B2B companies lose significant revenue due to opaque, spreadsheet-driven pricing workflows and misaligned incentives between sales and finance. As pricing models become more complex - usage-based, outcome-based, hybrid - the opportunity to build the foundational infrastructure layer for modern revenue teams is massive.

Backed by $7M from tier-one investors and operators from leading AI and fintech companies, the business has already closed multiple five and six-figure contracts with high-growth enterprise customers and is now focused on scaling revenue 10x.

They're hiring a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead the next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and scale a high-performing engineering team, doubling team size while maintaining a high-quality bar
• Own the technical roadmap and architecture, including core data models and long-term system scalability
• Partner closely with the Founder/CEO, Product, and GTM teams to deliver customer-facing features on tight timelines
• Provide hands-on coaching, conduct PR reviews, and unblock complex technical challenges
• Build an AI-first engineering organization, leveraging AI tools and workflows to maximize efficiency
• Manage and mentor 7+ engineers and contractors in a fast-moving environment

Requirements

• 10+ years building production-grade systems
• 3–5+ years managing full-stack engineering teams
• Experience managing 10–20 engineers at a VC-backed B2B SaaS startup or horizontal SaaS company
• Proven experience owning system architecture and data model decisions
• Track record of shipping and scaling production systems
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage, high-ownership environment
