Senior Engineering Manager

Rippling's Talent Engineering organization powers the systems behind sourcing, interviewing, and hiring for thousands of customers. The team owns two core productsATS and Headcount Planningand is at an inflection point as we expand globally and invest deeply in AI-native recruiting experiences.

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale these products. In this role, you'll drive architectural modernization, partner closely with Product and Applied ML to build differentiated LLM-powered capabilities, and ensure the team delivers reliable, high-quality infrastructure for our Talent products. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with operational excellence and a track record of leading teams through high-growth, fast-moving environments.

What You Will Do

  • Lead high-performing engineering teams responsible for ATS and Headcount Planning.
  • Set the technical vision and long-term architecture for Talent's core products.
  • Drive adoption of AI/LLM capabilities in partnership with Applied ML.
  • Ensure strong engineering execution, operational rigor, and consistent delivery.
  • Guide system design and architecture reviews; own key technical decisions.
  • Partner closely with Product and cross-functional leaders to shape and sequence roadmaps.
  • Establish efficient processes that enable fast iteration and high-quality releases.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence.

What You Will Need

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical foundation in distributed systems or large-scale SaaS products.
  • Experience leading complex architectural or platform modernization efforts.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong product intuition and ability to collaborate closely with Product and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership presence, and ability to drive alignment.
