Mid-Level Litigation Associate

Location: Bay Area (Hybrid)

A highly regarded boutique litigation firm is seeking a mid-level associate (JD 2017–2022) to join its complex commercial litigation practice. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure matters in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation, from pre-litigation strategy through trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Manage cases and interface directly with clients
• Collaborate closely with partners and small, lean teams

Qualifications

• JD class year 2017–2022
• Experience in complex commercial litigation
• Strong writing, analytical, and case management skills
• Background from a reputable firm (boutique or large firm preferred)
• Admitted to the California Bar

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary (1,750 hours): ~$220K – $315K (class year dependent)
• Structured true-ups at 1,825 and 1,900 hours, increasing total compensation based on billables
• Top-end compensation reaches $362K+ (and up to ~$375K for senior class years) at 1,900 hours
• Discretionary bonus eligibility begins at 1,750 hours
• BigLaw-level pay at a 1,750-hour foundation, with upside into the mid-$300Ks — without a 2,000+ hour requ
• Hybrid schedule (2 days/week in office)
