2026-04-15     The Mice Groups     San Francisco,CA
Description:

Social Media Manager

Part-Time Contract (approx. 20 hours/week)

San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid/Local Preferred)

This position pays around $35 - $50/hr on W2

The Role

We are looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to own our digital presence. We recently launched a developer-centric product, and we need someone who speaks "developer." You won't just be posting updates; you'll be building a community, translating complex technical concepts into engaging content, and defining how our brand lives on the web.

What You'll Do

  • Channel Management: Own and grow our presence across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Content Creation: Design platform-appropriate graphics and assets specifically tailored to a developer and DevOps audience.
  • Video Production: Edit and optimize short-form and long-form video content for social distribution (demos, feature highlights, "build with me" clips).
  • Strategy & Execution: Operate independently to build a social roadmap that aligns with our product milestones—no handholding required.
  • Community Engagement: Dive into the comments and subreddits to foster genuine technical discussions and brand affinity.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 2–3 years of social media management with a proven strategic track record.
  • Domain Expertise: You have previously managed social for DevOps, Developer Tools, or Developer Communities. You understand the nuances of technical audiences and know what they find valuable (and what they find "cringe").
  • Multimedia Skills: Proficiency in graphic design and video editing (Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.) to create high-quality, thumb-stopping technical content.
  • Independence: You are a self-starter who can take a technical product update and turn it into a multi-channel campaign without constant supervision.
