Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Integration Engineer – Wiring Harness & Vehicle Packaging to own the end-to-end mechanical integration of wiring harnesses and low-voltage components across assigned vehicle areas, ensuring robust, serviceable, and production-ready solutions.

You will work in a dynamic and cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Integration, Geometric Integration, and Manufacturing teams to develop and implement reliable harness routing and retention strategies in complex vehicle architectures.

  • CAD Design & Release Documentation
  • Prototype Support, Fit-Check & Iteration
  • Risk Identification & Preventive Design Implementation
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Integration Closure

Required Skills:

  • Experience in mechanical integration, harness routing, or vehicle packaging within automotive, robotics, aerospace, or similar industries
  • Strong hands-on experience designing harness retention solutions (brackets, clips, clamps, grommets, protective features)
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and 2D drawing creation with GD&T
  • Solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, injection molding)
  • Practical knowledge of wiring harness integration best practices (bend radius, strain relief, chafe protection, routing constraints)
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, fit-checks, and fast design iteration cycles
  • Ability to work independently, from problem definition through solution delivery

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with harness design tools and PLM/release workflows (e.g., Siemens Capital, CATIA/3DX, NX, ECO/CR processes)
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical integration constraints (CAN/LIN routing, grounding, EMC considerations)
  • Experience defining fastener strategies and durability requirements (vibration, corrosion, thermal, ingress protection)
  • Background in developing test fixtures or special equipment for vehicle or lab applications
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Profile Completes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to work autonomously and drive tasks to completion
  • Hands-on approach and comfort working directly with vehicles, hardware, and technicians
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly document design intent and installation guidance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, prototype-driven environments
  • High level of ownership, adaptability, and attention to detail
