Summer Intern - Metro Events

Metro Events is seeking a creative and analytical Marketing Intern to help evaluate and refresh our marketing strategy across multiple venues. This role is ideal for a student interested in event marketing, digital strategy, and brand storytelling. The intern will analyze our current marketing mix, help modernize our social media presence, and develop simple, sustainable tools our team can use long-term, and ultimately present strategic recommendations and outcome options in a final presentation at the conclusion of the internship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate the current marketing mix for Metro Events' venues and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Research and recommend new marketing channels or strategies to increase venue visibility and bookings.
  • Audit and reimagine the company's social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
  • Design easy-to-use social media templates (posts, stories, reels) for ongoing use by internal staff.
  • Develop a practical TikTok strategy that can be implemented and maintained by existing team members.
  • Assist in planning and creating social media content showcasing the venues, events, and unique features.
  • Analyze performance metrics and provide insights on engagement and growth opportunities.
  • Support general marketing initiatives and brand consistency across venues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in digital marketing, social media, and brand development.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok trends and best practices.
  • Basic design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written communication and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and present ideas clearly.
  • Interest in events, hospitality, or venue marketing is a plus.
