Operations Generalist / People Lead

Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company that's redefining how high-growth teams scale efficiently. Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by leading innovators across the tech landscape, they've built a marketplace platform that connects companies with specialized recruiting expertise to fill critical roles faster and smarter.

With over $25M in funding and a rapidly expanding team, this company is scaling quickly and seeking a driven Operations Generalist / People Lead to join their San Francisco office. You'll work closely with leadership and product teams to streamline internal operations, strengthen company culture, and help shape how the organization grows.

What You Will Do

  • Lead end-to-end hiring operations: Own the full recruiting funnel for both technical and non-technical roles from job postings to candidate experience to offer process.
  • Be the face of the company: Act as the first point of contact for candidates, representing the company's brand and culture throughout the hiring journey.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering: Provide feedback and insights to the product team as a primary internal user of the company's platform, helping shape product direction and usability.
  • Drive operational excellence: Build and refine internal systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency across recruiting, onboarding, and company-wide operations.
  • Manage special projects: Partner with leadership on cross-functional initiatives, including event planning, team offsites, and internal operations projects.
  • Contribute to culture: Play a key role in fostering community, organization, and engagement within a fast-paced, ambitious team.

Ideal Candidate Background

  • 13 years of experience in operations, people, or business roles within high-intensity or fast-paced environments.
  • Experience at a startup (Series B or earlier) or in venture capital / private equity.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills thrives on structure and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and adaptable able to wear multiple hats and navigate ambiguity confidently.
  • A strong team player who enjoys being at the center of company activity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree from a top university or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to recruiting, talent operations, or HR systems.
  • Experience leading or supporting culture initiatives or company events.
  • Passion for tech startups, innovation, and helping companies grow.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $110,000 $160,000 base (commensurate with experience)
  • Equity: Competitive early-stage stock options

  • Location: On-site in the company's San Francisco (Jackson Square) office
