Description:

A fast-paced, dynamic retail organization in the beauty space is seeking a Project Manager, Merchandising Space Optimization to support store planning, mapping, and merchandising execution across a large U.S. fleet. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Retail Operations, Visual Marketing, and Inventory, to support store retrofits and enhancements while maintaining critical merchandising databases and driving sales-focused decisions. We are seeking an organized, analytical, and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys managing complex projects and timelines.

***This is a fully remote, open-ended contract role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of merchandise planning and store mapping for freestanding and shop-in-shop retail locations
  • Assist in implementing merchant strategies and field requests on store maps, contributing to biannual store rebranding efforts
  • Manage multiple store enhancement and retrofit projects across varying timelines and scopes
  • Execute against master timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain and update merchandising databases, including branded space allocation by store and fixture
  • Create and manage assortments, including tracking inventory start and end dates impacted by store updates
  • Partner with regional and district teams to align on store needs and final layouts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Development, Procurement, Retail Operations, Visual Marketing, and Inventory teams
  • Analyze store-level performance and brand productivity to support merchandising decisions
  • Support budget awareness by identifying cost-saving opportunities and sales-driving initiatives

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retail, preferably in merchandising, operations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams and levels
  • Proactive, positive team player with a strong sense of ownership

Compensation

$30–$37/hr
