Kitchen Assistant

Essential Job Functions:

• Arrange for all clean china, glass, silverware, and serving pieces needed as directed by the Head Chef and the Sous Chefs
• Maintain general cleanliness of all kitchen areas
• Removal of trash & recycling to the proper disposal area
• Sweep and mop the floors in the kitchen, dish station and room service area
• Assists in back dock organization and trash & waste receptacle treatment
• Steam cleans and/or hoses out all garbage and recycle cans
• Pressure washes all kitchen mats at the end of the evening shift
• Complies with all sanitation, food handling, and safety requirements
• Scrub pots and pans
• Clean the outside docks, kitchen entry, and downstairs in the break area
• Clean kitchen equipment including the stoves and hoods
• Maintain the detergent in the dishwashing machine
• Fill soap and hand towel dispensers daily
• Prep food for the kitchen as needed

Essential Work Skills:

• Ability to work and maintain a clean work environment
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours a day
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs
• Must be willing to follow direction from managers
• Willing to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently as well as a team player
• Must work in a timely and efficient manner

Minimum Education and Work Experience:

• Ability to speak English is preferable
• Previous experience in a kitchen is desirable
• Must have Food Handler Certificate within 30 days of hire

Pay Rate: $24.55 per hour
