Production Planner

As a Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating production schedules and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products. Your responsibilities will include analyzing demand forecasts, planning production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating closely with various departments to streamline workflows. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of raw materials and components
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Production teams to allocate resources (materials, equipment, manpower) efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in manufacturing operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service departments to coordinate production schedules, resolve production issues, and meet customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and escalate issues to senior planners or managers
  • Monitor production progress and update schedules as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • B.A./B.S. or Equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of Power BI is a big plus.
  • 2+ years' experience in Production Planning.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP system (Epicor prefer).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
  • Typically works in a manufacturing or production facility environment
  • May involve occasional time on the production floor
  • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift
