Description:

The Market Officer supports the leasing, asset management and acquisitions and development of the highest-priority initiatives, and actively contributes to a variety of complex projects, including sourcing, investment and acquisition transactions, strategy development and execution in their regional portfolios. They are responsible for conducting target research and helping the senior leadership team anticipate and successfully respond to investment, leasing, acquisition, and development challenges in ways that promote company growth and profitability.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and interpretation of procurement and leasing policies, procedures, and guidelines, advising leadership on strategic sourcing and acquisition approaches.
  • Support investment sourcing and pipeline development, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities and advance potential transactions for internal review.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including planning, sourcing, contract administration, and closeout, ensuring alignment with internal policies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate standards, proactively resolving issues prior to execution of contractual agreements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams, including performance management, coaching, and alignment to strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business needs, solve complex challenges, and deliver solutions that balance operational goals with governance requirements.
  • Oversee data collection, reporting, and analysis to support informed decision-making and provide updates to senior leadership as needed.
  • Analyze deal and project data to generate insights and inform investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate markets, competitive landscapes, and financial performance.
  • Develop executive-level materials and deliverables to support strategic initiatives and leadership decision-making.
  • Perform additional responsibilities aligned with business needs and organizational priorities.

Skills & Experience

  • B.S. / B.A. degree required in a business-related, analytical, or scientific discipline (e.g. finance, economics, engineering, etc.), advanced degree preferred, or related combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge in investments and asset management.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract laws, rules, regulations, and practices.
  • Exceptional financial modelling skills.
  • Professional knowledge of local, state/provincial, and federal procurement statutes.
