Operations Manager, EPD

  2026-04-08     Semgrep     San Francisco,CA
Description:

About the Role

This role exists to make Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) leaders more effective. You keep the org running without being asked twice: anticipate what's needed, close loops, and make sure the team has the structure and context to do their best work. You don't write code. But you understand how engineers think about priorities, autonomy, and process overhead. You earn their trust. You won't be booking travel or managing inboxes. This is operational leverage for a high-performing technical organization.

What You'll Do

Ownership

  1. Rhythm and cadence
  2. Own the EPD operating calendar: all-hands, planning cycles, team reviews, recurring syncs
  3. Build agendas and prepare content in advance so meetings start with substance
  4. Run EPD all-hands end to end: slides, Q&A, follow-up

Priorities and Visibility

  1. Stay close to what's in flight across Engineering, Product, and Design
  2. Help track progress against OKRs throughout the quarter, not just at planning time
  3. Surface blockers and flag misalignment before they land on a leader's desk

Hiring Coordination

  1. Track open reqs and coordinate with recruiting on interview loops
  2. Make sure new EPD hires have what they need in week one: tools access, team context, relevant docs

Documentation and Tooling

  1. Keep EPD's Notion workspace clean: scope docs, project trackers, decision logs
  2. Stay on top of EPD tools, license counts, and renewal dates

Cross-Functional Coordination

  1. Act as the connective layer when EPD has dependencies on GTM, Finance, or People
  2. Draft EPD announcements and keep information flowing without routing everything through the CTO or VP of Product

Team Experience

  1. Partner with the People team on recognition, rewards, and org changes
  2. Handle the small things engineers notice: desk setups, equipment, swag
  3. Coordinate with the Internal Events Manager on the annual offsite and team events
You Are Ideal For This Role If You Have
  • 5-7 years in an operations or program management role
  • High agency: you identify problems before they're handed to you
  • Strong written communicator; comfortable building slides and running a room
  • Proficient with Notion or similar tools
  • Organized and discreet
