About HICAP: HICAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing crucial support to the elderly in understanding and navigating their Medicare benefits and related challenges. Our mission is to empower and advocate for seniors to ensure they receive the healthcare coverage they deserve.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in administrative tasks within the office environment, including data entry, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and facilitating the environment.
• Engage with elderly clients, primarily Cantonese/Taishanese and Mandarin speakers, providing them with information and guidance on Medicare-related concerns.
• Translate documents and materials from English to Cantonese/Mandarin and vice versa, ensuring accurate communication.
• Support HICAP counselors and staff in coordinating appointments and client follow-ups.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain an organized and efficient office environment.

Requirements:

• Fluency in spoken and written Cantonese (Taishanese or Mandarin) is essential.
• Excellent communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with the broader team.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward working with elderly individuals.
• Previous office experience or customer service skills are a plus but not mandatory.
• Passion for helping the elderly community and a commitment to making a positive impact.
