Technical Onboarding Manager

We are seeking a Technical Onboarding Manager to lead the onboarding and transition of new clients into our managed services environment. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and client communication, ensuring that new clients are successfully integrated into our systems and processes.

The Technical Onboarding Manager will coordinate internal technical teams, manage onboarding timelines, and work directly with client stakeholders to ensure a smooth and organized transition. This role requires strong generalist technical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients
  2. Coordinate onboarding timelines, internal resources, and project tasks
  3. Gather credentials, document client environments, and oversee tool deployment
  4. Ensure smooth transitions from prior IT providers or internal IT teams
  5. Collaborate with internal engineers to deploy endpoint management, identity, and security tools
  6. Maintain detailed documentation of client environments and onboarding progress
  7. Join client onboarding calls and communicate updates clearly to stakeholders
  8. Identify risks, blockers, or gaps early and escalate as needed
  9. Create, follow, and improve onboarding runbooks and standard operating procedures
  10. Track multiple onboarding projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in an MSP environment (preferred)
  • Experience managing or coordinating technical onboarding or implementation projects
  • Solid working knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools (Intune, RMM platforms, device provisioning)
  • Understanding of identity and access management best practices
  • Experience working with common MSP security tools (EDR, backups, monitoring)
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and technical teams
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate with minimal oversight
