About the Team

Client Labs is an independent team within Client. We are working on building autonomous deliveryrobots from the ground up and other automation solutions as part of Client's core delivery platform. If you have a passion for applying AI and robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!

Please Note: This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires in-person attendance 5 days a week, plus availability for on-site interviews.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Electrical Assembler to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will help service and assemble the next generation of robotic systems within Client Labs. You will support the assembly and buildout of production hardware and approved test platforms by following released work instructions and build documentation. Your focus will be on completing repeatable, high-quality assemblies and subassemblies that meet defined requirements for internal use and customer delivery.

You'll work alongside manufacturing, hardware, and service engineering teams to assemble electromechanical systems and vehicle components, report build issues, and support integration and testing activities. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on production work in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in building reliable, consistent hardware through disciplined execution.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical production units and subassemblies according to released drawings, work instructions, and build documentation.
  • Perform repeatable production builds of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical integrations to defined quality standards.
  • Install and connect compute, control, power, and sensor systems following established procedures.
  • Conduct prescribed functional tests, inspections, and basic calibration steps to verify build completeness and quality.
  • Identify build defects, missing components, or out-of-spec conditions and escalate issues to manufacturing or engineering leads.
  • Rework or repair production units as directed using approved processes and documentation.
  • Maintain organized workstations, tools, and production materials to support efficient throughput.
  • Support kitting, material handling, and inventory accuracy for production builds.
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality requirements during all assembly and test activities.
  • Accurately record build status, serial numbers, and production data in tracking systems.
  • Assist with factory integration, final assembly, and shipment preparation as needed.
  • Provide feedback on work instructions and tooling to improve clarity and repeatability.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or similar environment, such as aerospace, construction, automotive, or electrical service industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
  • This role is mainly on-site and occasionally in the field, which requires work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or applicable.
  • Work in a stimulating, demanding, and rapidly advancing environment at the forefront of technological innovation.
  • Basic English skills - ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored visas.
Preferred Experience
  • The Assembler is tasked with a broad scope of work within a fast-moving manufacturing floor, with a primary focus on completing the final product build.
  • Connect wires between individual component leads, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Perform electrical wire terminations.
  • Execute the process of cutting wires to required specifications, followed by routing, managing, bundling, and firmly securing them at the terminal connections.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
  • Perform tasks requiring knowledge of various processes, operations, and equipment.
  • Produce electrical or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies by following specifications laid out in engineering prints, diagrams for wiring, lists of components, wire inventories, preliminary sketches, and direct verbal instruction.
Physical Requirements
  • The role frequently requires walking, extending arms and hands for reach, bending, stooping, kneeling, and low-level movement.
  • Regularly required to ascend stairs, steps, and use vertical ladders.
  • Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
  • Perform work overhead.
  • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
  • Essential vision capabilities include clear close-up and distance vision, color differentiation, peripheral viewing, depth perception, and the ability to maintain focus.
