Meat Clerk — 99 Ranch Market

Location: 338 Barber Ln, Milpitas, CA 95035

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (30+ hours per week)

Pay: $18.20–$20.20/hour depending on experience

Schedule: 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays. Shifts range from as early as 8:00 AM to as late as 8:00 PM.

About the Role

99 Ranch Market's Milpitas store is hiring a Meat Clerk to work in the meat department — stocking, merchandising, cutting, and keeping the cases looking fresh. You'll handle everything from unloading deliveries and rotating product to cutting and wrapping custom orders for customers. This is a hands-on, physical role in a cold environment where reliability and teamwork matter most.

A Note on the Work Environment

This role involves regular time in walk-in coolers and freezers (32°F–50°F), standing for long stretches, and lifting up to 30 lbs with equipment. If you're comfortable working on your feet in a cold environment and enjoy physical, hands-on work, this is a great fit.

What You'll Do

• Set up and maintain the fresh meat display cases with proper signage and attractive merchandising
• Cut, wrap, and package meat items at customers' request — accurately and efficiently
• Unload deliveries, break down shipments, and stock freezers and shelves using FIFO rotation
• Track and dispose of expired or recalled products in line with food safety and health regulations
• Clean and sanitize display cases, scales, counters, and walk-in coolers/freezers
• Keep aisles and common areas clear of boxes and debris
• Assist with periodic inventory counts alongside the team
• Help customers with questions about products and availability

Required

• Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese
• Available to work weekends and holidays, 30+ hours per week
• Able to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 30 lbs with equipment
• Comfortable working in cold environments (32°F–50°F)
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred

• Conversational English
• Availability for both early shifts (starting at 8:00 AM) and late shifts (ending around 8:00 PM)
• Previous meat department or grocery experience
• Knowledge of general meat product lines
