Overview

A private investment firm is seeking a highly motivated Private EquityAssociate to join its Technology investing team. The role will focus on the technical execution and analysis of private equity investments in technology-driven businesses. The Associate will be a core member of lean deal teams, supporting the investment lifecycle from initial screening through portfolio monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Engineering: Build, maintain, and sensitize complex three-statement financial models, LBO models, and returns analyses (IRR/MOIC).
  • Deal Execution: Support all aspects of the transaction process, including coordinating third-party diligence providers (legal, tax, commercial) and organizing data rooms.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct deep-dive fundamental research on sub-sectors within technology (SaaS, Fintech, etc.) to identify and screen potential targets.
  • Reporting & Memoranda: Draft high-quality investment committee memos and presentations that clearly articulate investment theses and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Portfolio Support: Assist in the ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance, including preparing quarterly valuation materials and tracking key KPIs.
  • Market Mapping: Maintain a proactive "pulse" on the tech landscape to support senior professionals in sourcing and thematic research.

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience (typically finishing a 2-year Analyst program) in Investment Banking, Growth Equity, or a top-tier Consulting firm.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced Excel skills with a proven ability to build "from scratch" LBO and operating models.
  • Sector Interest: A demonstrated passion for technology-enabled businesses and an understanding of tech-specific metrics (e.g., CAC/LTV, Churn, ARR growth).
  • Academic Excellence: Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university with a strong GPA in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field.
  • Process Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deal timelines.
