Location: Oakland, CA (100% On-site)

Compensation: $60.61/hr (W2)

Duration: 6 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Aveva PI Developer with 6–10 years of experience to support and evolve a large-scale PI landscape (500K+ tags). This role focuses on high availability, system migrations from on-prem to cloud, and the design of Asset Framework (AF) structures aligned with ISA-95 standards. The ideal candidate will have deep functional understanding of the Utilities (Gen / T&D / Renewables) sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Administer and support the PI System infrastructure, including Data Archive (DA), AF, ACE, Vision, and Event Frames.

  • Architecture & Design: Design AF structures using ISA-95 standards and integrate OSI PI with 3rd party apps and Azure Business Analytics.

  • System Migration: Lead and support PI migrations from on-premise to cloud environments and perform complex system upgrades.

  • Visualization: Build and maintain PI Vision displays to support real-time control room operations.

  • Data Integrity: Monitor system performance for 0.5M+ tags, manage capacity planning, and ensure robust backup strategies.

  • Developer Support: Utilize AF SDK and Visual Studio C# for custom tool development and system enhancements.

Required Technical Skillset

  • 6–10 Years of experience in Aveva/OSI PI L2 Support and Development.

  • Core Modules: Mastery of PI AF, PI DA, PI ACE, PI Vision, and PI Manual Logger.

  • Integrations: Experience with PI Connectors, ESRI Integrators, and Azure.

  • Standards: Strong understanding of the Purdue Model and ISA-95.

  • Development: Base proficiency in C# and AF SDK.

  • Utilities Domain: Functional knowledge of Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, or Renewables.
