Role Summary

This role is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of payroll and timekeeping systems. The ideal candidate will function as a subject matter expert, supporting payroll operations, system enhancements, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support internal and external audits, including reporting and documentation
• Conduct financial, statistical, and operational analyses, including cost/benefit evaluations
• Run payroll cycles as needed
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support business decisions
• Support and potentially lead projects as a subject matter expert
• Ensure compliance with audit processes, internal controls, and accounting standards
• Provide policy guidance and interpret payroll-related regulations
• Present complex payroll information to leadership as needed
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Perform detailed process mapping and maintain documentation
• Configure and support payroll processes within Workday, including CA earn codes
• Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
• Independently manage medium-complexity projects with minimal oversight

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5–7 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in payroll technology
• Experience with payroll systems implementation, configuration, and testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to interpret complex processes and develop effective solutions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Experience improving operational efficiency through technical solutions
