Caregiver for 12yo Boy - Wed Afternoons (USF / Lone Mountain)
We are seeking a patient and reliable male caregiver for our 12-year-old son for Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. We are located a short walk from the USF Lone Mountain area, making this an ideal role for someone living on or near campus.
The Routine:
- 1:00 PM: Receive our son when he is dropped off after school.
- Homework: Assist with school assignments (patience is a must).
- Snack: Prepare a simple afternoon snack.
- Outdoors: Most afternoons include a trip to the local park to play with the dog.
About the Role:
Our son is neuroatypical and can present some behavioral challenges. We need a steady, supportive presence who can maintain a calm environment. While we are starting with Wednesdays, there is potential for more hours in the future for the right fit.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Personality: Highly patient, kind, and flexible. We are looking for someone with an easy-going demeanor who doesn't get easily rattled.
- Experience: Prior experience working with neuroatypical children or behavioral needs is preferred (Nursing, Psychology, or Education majors are often a great fit).
- Interests: He is a big fan of cars, planes, and dogs. If you can talk about engines while walking a dog, you will get along great.
Compensation: $22 - $30/hour (depending on experience).
