Description:

A fast-growing AI company developing advanced design and engineering tools is looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to help build and scale intelligent agent systems powering their next-generation platform.

This role focuses on creating production-grade AI workflows and agent architectures that connect advanced language models with real-world engineering and manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in building systems that transform how engineers and designers interact with AI when creating physical products. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work closely with product and research teams to translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into reliable, user-facing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI agent systems and orchestration workflows for production applications.
  • Build intelligent pipelines integrating LLMs, tools, and external systems.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure reliability, performance, and accuracy of AI workflows.
  • Work on applications that bridge software systems with physical manufacturing technologies (e.g., CAD, 3D printing, CNC).
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to bring new AI capabilities into customer-facing products.

Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering background with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
  • Experience building LLM-powered applications and agent architectures (tool calling, multi-agent workflows, reasoning loops).
  • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
  • Proven experience integrating AI systems into production web products.
  • Direct experience with the physical engineering world is essential – mechanical engineering, CAD, manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, or similar domains.
  • Experience working with multimodal AI systems is highly beneficial.

The role is offering a salary of up to $250,000 per annum and is a hybrid working schedule (3 days per week).
