Kadence has partnered with a AI x HealthTech company in the Bay Area, looking for a Vice President of Engineering - They are building AI systems that automate complex healthcare workflows at scale, operating in a high-stakes, regulated environment with real-world impact.

Location: Bay Area (hybrid, flexible days, primarily in-person)

What You'll Do

• Design and scale cloud-native, distributed systems for high-volume data
• Build reliable data pipelines and support production AI/LLM systems
• Architect secure integrations with external customer systems
• Ensure compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2) across infrastructure and data flows
• Own DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering standards
• Hire and lead a high-performing, execution-focused team

Requirements:

• Track record scaling production systems
• Experience leading engineering teams
• Strong background in cloud, distributed systems, and data infrastructure
• Familiarity with AI/ML systems in production (LLMs a plus)
• Experience in regulated environments is a plus
