About the Role

As the

CCU Clinical Lead , you will provide hands‑on clinical support for critically ill and hospitalized patients while leading and developing a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants. You'll work closely with

board‑certified Criticalists , emergency doctors, and hospital leadership to ensure excellent patient outcomes and smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support RVTs and Veterinary Assistants within the Critical Care Unit
Maintain high standards of patient care and safety for critical and ICU patients
Provide hands‑on training, mentorship, and clinical development for CCU staff
Assist with advanced case management, including triage, ventilator support, anesthesia monitoring, and intensive care protocols
Partner with doctors and leadership to support workflow, staffing, and hospital goals
Support emergency case flow and client communication for critical patients
Qualifications

Required:
5+ years of recent veterinary clinical experience
Emergency and/or critical care experience strongly preferred
Preferred:
Active

California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
Strong skills in medication calculations, anesthesia monitoring, triage, and ICU care
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
