Our client, a leading organization in autonomous vehicle technology, is seeking a Data Scientist to join their team. As a Data Scientist, you will be part of the Perception Attributes team supporting data mining and validation operations critical to vehicle perception systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Data Scientist - Vehicle Perception

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $83 per hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Own a critical data mining link between raw sensor logs and perception training pipelines
• Establish and maintain rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) processes for classified objects such as pedestrians and traffic signs
• Perform root cause analysis on data quality drops or edge-case failures and communicate learnings to the broader team
• Define and own Data Quality Objectives that reflect the health and accuracy of perception datasets
• Collaborate with engineers across the organization to improve vehicle autonomy through high-quality data

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering major with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and analysis
• Advanced SQL skills for complex data extraction and mining from large-scale databases
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning principles, especially object classification (cars, bikes, signs)
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical data trends to cross-functional stakeholders
