Clinical Therapist Position for Youth with Problem Sexual Behavior

NAFI Connecticut provides programs, consultation, and support services in a variety of settings across Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island. We work with adults, children, and families to increase communication and social skills, improve relationships, increase circles of support, and provide therapeutic services based on best-practice research. We are currently seeking a passionate (Bilingual in Spanish) Therapist/ Youth with Sexual Problem Behavior to deliver intensive community-based treatment for Youth with Problem Sexual Behavior. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact while benefiting from specialized training and ongoing individual and group supervision. Therapists at NAFI CT operate within a collaborative framework, conducting sessions primarily in-person within natural environments such as homes or safe locations.

MST PSB (Multisystemic Therapy for Problematic Sexual Behaviors) is a 3x/week level of care program that programs in-home family therapy services for family systems that have a youth between ages 10-17 that have engaged in problematic sexual behaviors including youth at risk of human trafficking. The MST PSB Therapist meets weekly as a team to review session plans and receives support through team members, supervisor, and the MST Consultant. There are quarterly MST trainings to further support clinical growth.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Therapists provide services across multiple regions with (Agency Vehicle): including Norwich, Willimantic, Middletown, and Manchester
  • Deliver intensive community-based treatment for Youth with Problem Sexual Behavior
  • Time management to meet with families 3x/week (a total of 12 sessions weekly)
  • Manage communication with school, DCF, Juvenile Probation, or other community agencies
  • On-call 1 week every 7 to 10 weeks
  • Provide personalized therapy tailored to the specific needs of each client
  • Conduct in-person therapy sessions within natural environments (e.g., homes or safe locations)
  • Maintain a manageable caseload of 4 clients for focused, high-quality care
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment
  • Participate in ongoing individual and group supervision to support professional growth
  • Benefit from specialized training and development in the field of youth therapy
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and their families
  • Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Stay informed on best practices and emerging techniques in treating Problem Sexual Behavior
  • Engage in regular consultation and collaboration with other professionals in the community
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for clients to foster growth and healing
  • Travel between Central and Eastern Connecticut

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related behavioral science
  • Receipt of provisional license (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A)
  • Skilled in therapeutic interventions, advocacy, and crisis intervention
  • Ability to function independently and as a team
  • Communication Proficiency
  • Collaboration Skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
Salary: $73,000.00 / per year
