Exciting opportunity to join fast-growing company. Responsible for general accounting functions and financial reporting process for our insurance and reinsurance companies, including filings with the NAIC and state agencies. Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month end, quarter end, and annual close processes and financial reporting. Must be able to deliver high quality work as accuracy, timeliness and quality are vital to the success of the organization. Must be detail-oriented, hands-on, and have an efficient work approach. Must adhere to the Company's accounting policy and procedures and deliver accurate and timely information in compliance with the corporate office policies and accounting regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review general ledger accrual imports

• Perform bank to general ledger reconciliations

• Prepare bank entries to record cash transactions

• Complete monthly bank reconciliations

• Prepare, review, and submit journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses

• Support team on month-end close procedures

• Assist with quarterly and annual yellow book filings

• Assist with timely preparation and filing of premium tax returns

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements

• Assist with preparing documentation to help assist in annual external audit and any state exams that arise

• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate well with all levels of employees across the company

• Identify and establish new procedures/processes in a constantly changing and expanding environment

• Special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper preferred
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of financial statement preparation and presentation preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting debits and credits
  • Experience with Workday Financials is a plus
  • Insurance industry experience a plus
